Goddess Cycle

The Magical World of G. Michael Vasey

The bitter wind cries like a banshee

The balance is shifting day-by-day

When the banshee grows quieter

The bird song rises with a reddened dusk

Snow falls gently from a leaden sky

Turning soon to an ice cold drizzle

And then the Sun breaks through

The scudding clouds of winter’s tears

Morana’s howls are fading away

Her icy grip receding day by day

Signs abound of Vesna’s arrival

Despite winter’s last gasp denial

The cycle turns and life rebounds

From death or sleep it creeps

The maiden has returned

And Morana will be burned

And drowned

The one who

was crowned

Queen of winter
